Upon hearing this, Zhou Lingxing’s expression gradually grew serious. « What do you mean? »

Sun He finally stopped what he was doing and looked him in the eye. « Today, I saw a girl at the internet café playing *League of Legends*. Her mechanics weren’t great, but she never once got caught by the Rengar. »

He paused for a moment before adding, « She was playing Zyra mid. Rengar tried to gank her several times, but every time, it was as if she could sense him coming. She always managed to avoid the path where he would appear. »

Zhou Lingxing knew that Sun He never lied about anything related to games.

Dodging every Rengar ambush was theoretically possible, but it usually required the use of control wards and sweeping lenses.

After thinking for a moment, Zhou asked, « Did you ask her how she managed it? »

At that, Sun He gave a bitter smile. « She said it was because the Rengar player was just too dumb. »

Zhou Lingxing was stunned for a moment before his lips curled slightly.

« She sounds interesting. »

Sun He lowered his gaze and added, « She seemed to be in a hurry and told me to come find her again tomorrow. »

There was a trace of helplessness and frustration in his tone, as if he’d been shut out.

Zhou Lingxing didn’t press further. His deep eyes made it hard to read his emotions, but he simply said in a low voice, « Don’t forget tomorrow’s match in the morning. »

Sun He waved it off casually and opened the ranked queue. « I set the meeting for 3 p.m. We should be back by then. »

He got into a match within a minute and was assigned to play top lane. Just as he was about to select his champion, Zhou Lingxing’s cold, low voice sounded again, « Take me with you when you go tomorrow. »

Sun He turned to look at him with a knowing grin, as if to say, « I knew it. »

Zhou Lingxing, done speaking, didn’t spare him another glance and started a ranked game of his own.

He was curious to see for himself how someone could avoid every Rengar ambush without vision.

The corners of his mouth subtly lifted.

Heh, and it was a woman, no less.

—

The next day’s match ended quickly. GI was thoroughly crushed by LPL’s undefeated powerhouse, FHL, in just 30 minutes. It was a brutal loss.

Looking deeper, the outcome was determined by the first dragon fight. GI’s jungler, Shen Sinian, missed his Smite, allowing the enemy jungler to secure the dragon and gain a decisive lead.

*League of Legends* is a snowballing game, and the advantage grew especially fast since FHL was known for their flawless teamwork.

Wave and Lao Yu were left feeling the crushing weight of defeat, mentally and physically exhausted.

In contrast, Zhou Lingxing and Sun He had already accepted the likely outcome before the match even started and remained relatively calm.

While Zhou Lingxing’s skills weren’t top-tier, they were among the best in the country. Wave was a Chinese player recruited from a Korean team, with impeccable fundamentals and game sense. And even Lao Yu, the oldest member of the team, had developed his own strategies through years of competitive experience.

Logically, with such strong players, the team shouldn’t have struggled to even place in the top four during the regular season. But the team’s glaring weakness was Shen Sinian, who was constantly targeted by opponents. It had become routine for his lane to fall behind, but what frustrated him most was that more and more teams were adopting strategies specifically designed to shut him down.

Though none of his teammates ever blamed him, Shen Sinian felt like he was dragging the team down. He grew increasingly withdrawn, rarely practicing at the team base, preferring instead to go to the internet café to play against weaker opponents.

By the time they returned to the base after the match, it was nearly 3 p.m. Sun He figured it was time to head to the internet café and pulled Zhou Lingxing along with him.

Wave and Lao Yu exchanged bewildered glances as they watched the two leave. They lost the match, and there wasn’t going to be a review meeting?

Sensing the longing gazes of his bot lane duo, Sun He suddenly poked his head back through the door. « We’ll have a meeting after Zhou and I get back. In the meantime, stream for a bit to make up for lost time—and don’t mention the match. »

The two slumped their shoulders in resignation. Of course. They should’ve known better than to hope for mercy in this unforgiving world.

Sun He saw Su Heng and immediately left Zhou Lingxing behind, striding forward. « Hello, Miss Su. Yesterday, I was in such a rush that I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Sun He, the captain of the GI team from *League of Legends*. »

Su Heng nodded at him. « Su Heng, » she said briefly, then pointed toward a private room in the internet café. « Let’s go. »

The two men exchanged a glance and followed her.

The girl still looked like she hadn’t slept well, with a hint of drowsiness in her eyes.

She skillfully booted up a computer and logged into the game. When the server selection screen appeared, she turned to Sun He and asked, « Which server are you on? »

« Region 1, » he replied. Realizing she might not understand, he added, « That’s Ionia. »

After selecting the server, Su Heng entered the game. When the name creation screen popped up, she paused for a moment before typing quickly.

The sound of the keyboard echoed through the small room. Sun He leaned in to see what she had typed, and when the words came into view, he couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Her in-game name appeared at the top of the screen: ** »Let Me Sleep a Little Longer. »**

Su Heng ignored his laughter and spoke calmly. « Shall we play a game? Just the two of us. I’ll use the same champion as yesterday, and you pick Rengar. »

Still chuckling, Sun He stopped and started logging in to set up a custom game. Before he could finish, Zhou Lingxing, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke. « New accounts can’t open custom games. Use my account. »

Hearing the unfamiliar voice, Su Heng looked up for the first time at the man who had stayed in the background the entire time.

Though it was just a brief glance, his tall and sharp figure was clearly visible. She licked her lips, feeling her throat go a little dry.

Zhou Lingxing had been silently observing her for a while, and seeing no reaction from her, he walked over, took the mouse from her hand, and logged her out of her account. Their fingertips brushed briefly before separating.

Su Heng stared at him quietly for a moment, then pushed the keyboard toward him.

Taking the hint, Zhou Lingxing smoothly logged in, selected the custom game mode, and picked the champions. Once everything was ready, he slid the keyboard and mouse back to her.

Su Heng glanced at his long, slender fingers, then looked at Sun He across from her and said, « Let’s not meet until level six. After you get your ultimate, try to catch me. »

Sun He grinned. « Try to catch you, huh? That’s bold. »

He thought for a moment, then gave her a warning: « Just so you know, I’m not your average Rengar. If you only dodge the way you did yesterday, that won’t be enough against me. »

Su Heng’s expression didn’t change. « We’ll see. »

Sun He dismissed her words with a smile, thinking she was still inexperienced. « Let’s find out in the game. »

After the loading screen, both players entered the match.

Zhou Lingxing stood quietly on the side, seemingly uninterested in their conversation. His gaze remained fixed on the girl’s screen, watching her silently.

Su Heng’s gameplay was indeed that of a beginner—she didn’t know how to control the minion waves, often missed last-hits, and followed the system’s recommended build.

Zhou Lingxing felt a twinge of disappointment, and the look on his face gradually became more indifferent.

Sun He’s Rengar was the first to reach level six. However, instead of immediately using his ultimate to gank Su Heng from the top lane, he chose to return to base and buy items.

After purchasing his gear, he leisurely made his way into the jungle, planning to flank her from the dragon river toward mid-lane.

Su Heng’s jungle was pitch black, with no vision wards placed—even the free trinkets were unused.

The girl seemed unaware of the approaching danger and continued calmly farming minions in the middle lane.

Not wanting to waste time, Sun He swiftly reached the dragon area, activated his ultimate to become invisible, and rushed straight toward Zyra.

At the exact moment Sun He activated his ultimate, Su Heng stopped farming and began moving toward the Baron river, heading for the top lane.

Without vision in the enemy jungle, Sun He had no clue about her movements after she entered the river.

When he reached the Baron river and didn’t see her, he quickly assumed she had doubled back and entered his jungle to throw him off.

Believing that someone as calculating as Su Heng would try to mislead him, he changed course and headed toward his side of the jungle.

Meanwhile, Su Heng had already started recalling in the brush near her team’s blue buff.

Zhou Lingxing’s eyes darkened slightly as he watched.

If Su Heng’s maneuver was intentional, it meant she not only had excellent awareness but also knew how to anticipate her opponent’s thoughts.

However, it could also be that Sun He had simply overestimated her from the beginning, leading to his own blunder.

After purchasing items, Su Heng returned to the mid-lane, appearing as calm as if the previous encounter hadn’t happened at all.

When she started farming again, Sun He finally spotted her.

By then, any advantage he had from his earlier chase was gone. Su Heng’s Zyra had reached level six, and her items were now on par with his.

Sun He’s expression gradually turned serious. The situation was starting to get tricky, and he had a bad feeling about it.
