I didn’t realise it, but my hands were already desperately moving forward, and the second I reached for him, Valden caught my wrists and pinned them down against the hard mattress. His chest heaved in restraint, and his eyes stayed molten green, feral and unblinking.
“Maeve,” he growled, his voice breaking and straining against his wishes. “If I take you now, I won’t stop. Not until you forget your own name. Not until everyone in this cursed dome knows you’re mine. There won’t be a Darek after this. There won’t be anyone else. You’re going to be mine completely.”
