Chapter 23: Sudden Upheaval in the Tribe
Rock was taken aback and said, “Brother, you’re truly honest. The Lady Xuanyue you mentioned is that young girl dressed as a mage we just saw, right? You really have my admiration for finding such a beautiful girlfriend.”
A Dai smiled bitterly and replied, “She’s not my girlfriend at all; I’m merely her attendant.”
Rock was stunned and asked, “How could that be? With your skills, brother, how could you possibly serve as someone’s attendant?”
A Dai recalled all the moments he had shared with Xuan Yue, helplessly shook his head, and changed the subject: “Brother Rock, why is your Puyan clan so unwelcoming to outsiders?”
A glint of resentment flashed in Rock’s eyes. After a long pause, he sighed and said, “Because our Puyan clan has suffered too greatly. I cannot tell you yet; it is perhaps the greatest secret of our people. If the opportunity arises in the future, you will learn of it. Let us quicken our pace. Not far ahead lies one of our smaller tribes—my home as well. Your sister-in-law is an excellent cook. Today, I shall treat you to a few good drinks.” With a sharp cry, Rock spurred his warhorse and galloped forward.
Although A Dai’s horsemanship was far from skilled, the warhorse beneath him seemed rather proud and automatically accelerated to catch up. Startled, A Dai could only lower his body to maintain his balance.
Just as A Dai and Rock were making their way toward the Puyan tribe’s settlement, Feng Ping had already returned to Mount Tiangang. Over the past few days, he had ridden hard and fast, passing through the territories of the Yajin and Yalian clans, before finally arriving at his sect, weary from travel. The moment he stepped onto the mountain, he encountered an elderly man in white robes, over sixty years of age.
“Xiaoping, why have you returned? I heard from your master that you’ve now become the deputy commander of some mercenary group!”
Upon seeing the elderly man in white robes, Feng Ping hurried forward, bowed respectfully, and said, “Elder Uncle Lu Wen, greetings. Is Grandmaster currently on the mountain? I have urgent matters to report.”
Lu Wen, the fourth disciple of the Heavenly Gang Sword Saint, is now sixty-nine years old. Known for his loyal and honest nature, he treats everyone with kindness and is deeply beloved by the junior disciples of the sect. Hearing Feng Ping’s words, a hint of surprise appeared on his face as he asked, “What exactly has happened that requires disturbing my master? He is currently in secluded meditation.”
Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Feng Ping briefly recounted his encounter with A Dai. After listening to Feng Ping’s account, Lu Wen frowned and said, “Which fellow disciple possesses such remarkable ability, capable of training a disciple under twenty years old to such an extraordinary level? Ping’er, I haven’t heard of any mishap befalling your senior or junior brothers! Come, let us quickly ascend the mountain; I will first discuss this matter with your several elder uncles and masters.”
Feng Ping followed Lu Wen back to the summit of Tiangang Mountain. The peak was remarkably flat, and it was here that the Tiangang Sword Sect had been established several decades ago. The Tiangang Sword Sect held a highly esteemed position within the Huasheng Empire; indeed, Feng Wen, the second disciple of the Tiangang Sword Saint, currently served as the supreme commander of the empire’s entire military force. As early as forty years ago, the monarch of the Huasheng Empire had officially designated the Tiangang Sword Sect as the national sect. The requirements for accepting disciples into the Tiangang Sword Sect were extremely stringent, involving multiple layers of screening before admission. Innate talent was not what the sect valued most; rather, they placed the greatest emphasis on the moral character of their disciples. Over the past seventy years, the total number of disciples across several generations of the Tiangang Sword Sect amounted to merely over a hundred. Yet, the achievements of these disciples throughout the continent were truly remarkable. Perhaps their martial prowess could not be described as exceptionally formidable, but since its establishment, regardless of the generation, the disciples of the Tiangang Sword Sect have undoubtedly stood as symbols of justice across the continent.
Upon returning to the sect, Lu Wen immediately ordered his disciples to invite several senior brothers from the mountain, including Feng Ping’s master, Shi Wen, who ranked fifth among the second-generation disciples. In front of all his senior uncles and masters, Feng Ping recounted once again his encounter with A Dai. After hearing his account, these second-generation disciples of the Tiangang Sword Sect could not help but glance at each other in bewilderment; despite pondering for a long time, none could fathom who A Dai’s master truly was.
Lu Wen said, “Currently, we have accurate information regarding all third-generation disciples; there has been no report of anyone passing away! Ping’er, can you confirm that the child indeed used the Tiangang Sword Technique?”
Feng Ping nodded and replied, “Fourth Senior Uncle, there is absolutely no mistake. Even if the Tiangang Sword Technique could be imitated, the Shengsheng Battle Qi that A Dai employed during our exchange is undeniably genuine. Although he has not yet reached the fifth realm, he is very close to it. It is entirely my fault; I should have detained him back then. Had I brought him back, this matter would already be clarified.”
Xi Wen, seated at the head position, suddenly opened his eyes. Two beams of piercing light shot forth, landing upon Feng Ping. Xi Wen was the founding disciple of the Tiangang Sword Saint and possessed the most profound cultivation among all his senior brothers, having reached the eighth realm of the Shengsheng Art. Although already over eighty years old, he appeared, on the surface, even younger than Lu Wen.
Lu Wen said, “Senior Brother, do you know whose disciple this is? Could it be a student taught by Second Senior Brother’s disciple?”
Xi Wen shook his head and replied, “Unlikely. Although Second Brother’s cultivation is no less than mine, he has been serving in the military for years and simply hasn’t had the time to train disciples properly. His two disciples possess only the strength of the fifth rebirth stage of the Shengsheng Jue; they could never have produced such an outstanding student. Moreover, both of them remain at Second Brother’s side. When Second Brother returned recently, he even brought them along to pay respects to our Master.” Suddenly, brightness flashed in Xi Wen’s eyes as he turned to Feng Ping and asked, “Ping’er, do you remember any distinctive features about the Tiangang sword that child was using?”
Feng Ping thought for a moment and said, “On the surface, I couldn’t tell any difference from my own, but it seemed heavier. Although his cultivation wasn’t as high as mine, he didn’t suffer much disadvantage when we clashed directly.”
Xi Wen nodded and said, “That confirms it. That child is very likely not a fourth-generation disciple, but rather a third-generation one. Furthermore, the sword he used probably wasn’t the standard 56-kilogram Tiangang sword assigned to third-generation disciples, but rather the 72-kilogram Tiangang Heavy Sword infused with Xuan Iron, reserved for us second-generation disciples.”
Lu Wen was startled and exclaimed involuntarily, “Eldest Senior Brother, do you mean…”
Xi Wen nodded and sighed, “Only he could have trained such outstanding disciples! After thirty years, we finally have news of him. Quick, junior brothers, let us go together to invite our master to end his seclusion. Upon hearing this news, he will surely be overjoyed.” As he spoke, a trace of melancholy appeared on Xi Wen’s face.
Feng Ping listened in complete confusion, unsure whom the Eldest Senior Uncle was referring to. However, since everyone present was his elder, he dared not ask further and could only wait there.
Xi Wen and the other six second-generation disciples of the Tiangang Sword Sect arrived together outside the stone cave at the rear mountain. This seemingly unremarkable cave was where the Tiangang Sword Saint, renowned for nearly seventy years, had been cultivating in seclusion. Mountain winds stirred patches of white clouds that continuously crashed against the peaks. All present were top-tier experts across the continent; their vital energy radiated a faint white glow, repelling the damp mist.
Arriving outside the stone grotto, seven individuals lined up in a row with Xi Wen at the forefront, simultaneously calling out respectfully, “We humbly request Master to emerge from seclusion.” Their voices were not loud, yet enveloped by vibrant life energy, they penetrated deeply into the interior of the grotto.
After a short while, a clear voice echoed from within the grotto, “What matter could be so urgent as to disturb my cultivation?”
Xi Wen bowed toward the grotto and reported, “Reporting to Master, there may be news regarding our youngest junior brother. Feng Ping, disciple of our fifth junior brother, discovered a youth within the territory of the Red Hurricane Tribe. This youth is under twenty years of age, yet has already cultivated the Sheng Sheng Jue to the fourth realm. According to the boy, his master has passed away. I believe only our youngest junior brother could have trained such an outstanding disciple.”
The stone grotto was utterly silent. Xi Wen and the other six could only wait quietly for instructions from the Heavenly Gang Sword Saint. In the hearts of his disciples, the Heavenly Gang Sword Saint was nearly synonymous with a god.
After a long silence, a clear voice spoke again, tinged with faint sorrow: “Old Ninth has been gone for so many years; I never expected he would die far from home. Alas—fate plays cruel tricks! Issue my sect leader’s decree: command all disciples of the Tiangang Sword Sect to spare no effort in searching and to locate that disciple as soon as possible, then bring him back to me. Xi Wen, I am old; from now on, I will no longer involve myself in the sect’s affairs. From this day forward, you shall be the second-generation sect leader.”
Xi Wen was greatly startled and immediately knelt on the ground, trembling as he said, “Master, your disciple is terrified; please rescind your order.”
“I am old, and the time of my Great Return draws near. The position of Sect Master should have been passed to you long ago. This is my command; do not disobey.”
Upon hearing the Heavenly Gang Sword Saint speak of his impending Great Return, Lu Wen and the other five immediately knelt on the ground, crying out in unison, “Master—”
The Heavenly Gang Sword Saint’s voice softened considerably. “I have lived for over one hundred and ten years, making me the eldest among the Four Great Sword Saints. Human life is always finite. From now on, the Heavenly Gang Sword Sect will rely on all of you. The Blood Sun descends; a millennial calamity approaches—one that even the Holy See cannot resist. Dark tides are gradually rising across the continent. You must take the welfare of all living beings as your responsibility. When the Sacred Calendar reaches exactly one thousand years, a monstrous evil will inevitably descend upon the mortal world. Alas… I fear I shall not live to see that day. You must assist the Holy See in eradicating this evil. Do you understand?”
“I shall faithfully obey Master’s orders.”
“Good. Xi Wen, you must find that child as soon as possible. The matter concerning Old Nine is the greatest regret of my life; I was truly too selfish. I hope to fulfill this wish before I die.”
…
After more than two hours of rapid travel, A-Dai, who had never ridden a horse before, felt as though his entire body were about to shake apart. Especially his waist and buttocks had gone so numb from soreness that he could no longer feel them.
Yan Shi gently pulled the reins, slowing his horse, and glanced at A Dai riding beside him. “Brother, how does it feel to ride a horse?” he asked.
A Dai replied with a wry smile, “Big Brother Yan Shi, my bones feel like they’re about to shake apart. Haven’t we reached your tribe yet?”
Yan Shi laughed heartily. “It’s always like this the first time you ride. Once we pass through this forest, we’ll arrive at the tribe. Just hold on a little longer.”
A Dai stretched his limbs and said, “Big Brother Yan Shi, the environment here in your Puyan Tribe is truly wonderful, with so many forests. Don’t you have any cities?”
Rock nodded and said, “It was nature that gave birth to us, the people of the Pu Yan tribe. How could we possibly destroy it? Cities? What use are cities? They are nothing more than what emerges after clearing forests to build upon. Nature has its own laws; if you treat it poorly, sooner or later it will retaliate. Even if humans possessed the power of gods, they could never stand against nature!”
Ah Dai scratched his head and replied, “Brother Rock, although I don’t fully understand your words, I feel everything you say is absolutely right. Compared to cities, I much prefer staying in the forest where the air is fresh.” Mentioning the forest naturally brought to mind the Illusionary Forest and Goris, the Flame Sorcerer he hadn’t seen in five years, causing a faint sadness to appear on his face.
Rock said, “The tribe ahead is my own territory. We, the Pu Yan tribe, have several dozen tribes in total. My father is the chief of the largest tribe, which makes him the patriarch of the entire Pu Yan people. Our people are extremely united, utterly unlike other places where individuals scheme against one another, spending every day thinking about how to outwit others.”
Finally passing through the woods, everything before them immediately startled Ah Dai. This place resembled a huge village, filled everywhere with houses built from stone, seemingly accommodating several thousand households. The tribe was bustling with activity; cooking smoke curled gently into the air, clearly indicating that many families were preparing lunch.
Reining in the horse, Rocky leaped down and proudly said to A-Dai, “How about it? Isn’t our tribe quite impressive? Except for lacking city walls, there’s hardly any difference between us and a proper city; we have everything one could need. Stay here today to rest well; there’s no rush to continue your journey until tomorrow morning.”
A-Dai also dismounted. As soon as his feet touched the ground, he felt much more comfortable, though slightly unsteady on his legs. He adjusted the flow of energy within his body and hurriedly stretched his sore muscles and joints. At that moment, Yue Hen and the others climbed down from the carriage as well. Xuan Yue quickly ran over to A-Dai, gazing at the tribe before them, and exclaimed in astonishment, “Wow, what a huge village!”
Yue Hen coughed twice and said, “This isn’t a village; it should be called the Puyan tribe’s settlement. It’s almost like an ordinary city. I’ve even seen tribes larger than this one.”
Xuan Yue shot him a glare and retorted, “I’ll call it a village; what’s wrong with that?” While speaking, she tugged at A-Dai’s clothes, frowning as she added, “Look, how did your clothes get so messed up? Let me fix them for you.” Due to the horseback riding, A-Dai’s garments were already full of wrinkles. Upon hearing her words, he lowered his head to see Xuan Yue pulling at his mage robe, constantly smoothing it out. An unusual sensation, akin to an electric shock, instantly spread throughout A-Dai’s entire body. He stood there dumbfounded, unable to utter a single word.
Rocky chuckled and said, “Brother, you still claim she’s not your little girlfriend? Just look how much she cares about you!”
Xuan Yue swayed her blue braids, her pretty face flushing slightly as she retorted, “What nonsense are you spouting? Who’s his girlfriend? We just happened to come together. If he showed up with his clothes all messy, wouldn’t that embarrass me?”
Rocky gave A-Dai a peculiar glance and said, “Let’s go; first, enter our tribe. You’ve been traveling all morning and must be tired. Have something to eat and rest a while.”
Escorted by Rocky’s squad of soldiers, the group entered the tribe. Most of the Puyan people were of yellow ethnicity, their skin slightly darker than A-Dai’s, with brown hair as their distinguishing feature. Everyone who saw Rocky displayed an expression of respect.
“Uncle Rock, you’re back! Did you bring anything yummy for Dongdong?” A four- or five-year-old boy ran over, curiously glancing at Adai and the others before throwing himself into Rock’s arms.
Rock laughed heartily, lifting the boy up in one swift motion. “Dongdong, Uncle left in such a hurry this time that I didn’t have a chance to bring you any treats. But I promise, next time I definitely will.”
Dongdong pouted his little lips and said, “Uncle, you have to keep your word, okay?”
Rock affectionately ruffled the boy’s hair twice and replied, “When has Uncle ever broken his word? Where’s your mom?”
A woman ran over, her features delicate and refined. She called out to the rock, “Young Chief, you’re back. As soon as Dongdong saw your figure, he hurriedly ran over. Dongdong, come down quickly!” Dongdong glanced at his mother, tightened his arms around the rock’s neck, and refused to move.
The young woman approached the rock, sighed, and said, “Young Chief, Dongdong has always regarded you as a father. His own father passed away early. If there’s ever a chance in the future, I hope you could teach him something.”
Dongdong lifted his head, looked at the rock, and said, “Yes, Uncle Rock, I want to become a brave warrior just like you.”
A hint of sadness flickered in the rock’s eyes. Gently stroking Dongdong’s hair, he said, “Zhuoma, I will. Dongdong, be good and come down first. Uncle has guests today and can’t stay with you. In a few days, Uncle will start teaching you martial arts.” Only after the rock repeatedly coaxed and persuaded him did Dongdong agree to return to his mother’s embrace. The young woman cast a glance at Ah Dai and the others before turning and walking away.
Watching the young woman’s retreating figure, a hint of melancholy appeared in Rock’s eyes. Xuan Yue asked, “Your relationship seems quite complicated! Big guy, who are they to you?”
Rock shook his head. Leading everyone toward the center of the tribe, he said, “Zhuoma is the wife of one of my best brothers. When Dongdong was two years old, his father died in the line of duty. That was already three years ago. It’s pitiful for that orphaned mother and child. Whenever I have free time, I try to look after them. In our tribe, there are many cases like Zhuoma’s, all because…” Suddenly, he stopped speaking, casting a wary glance at Xuan Yue before falling silent.
Yue Hen and Yue Ji exchanged bewildered glances, while Xuan Yue’s large eyes darted about, lost in thought. A Dai spoke up to Rock, “Brother Rock, don’t be too sad; what’s done is done. Although their fate is tragic, Dongdong still has his mother. Compared to me, he’s much better off.” Recalling his childhood experience of catching fish with Nino in the city, A Dai became somewhat dazed.
Xuan Yue had never heard A Dai speak of his background before. Curious, she asked, “A Dai, I’ve never asked you this: what did your parents do? Where is your home?”
A Dai glanced at her and said softly, “I have no parents. Nor do I have a home.” Thinking of Owen, A Dai felt a sharp pain in his heart, filled with longing for both Owen and Goris.
Rock patted A Dai on the shoulder and said, “Brother, so you’re an orphan too! Well, we’ve arrived at my place; let’s go inside. Today, my wife will prepare a delicious meal for you all. You should know, her cooking skills are truly excellent!” This was already the second time Rock had praised his wife to A Dai. Judging by the blissful expression on his face, it was evident that he shared a deep bond with his spouse.
Upon hearing Rock’s words, A Dai finally realized that everyone had arrived before a massive stone house. Situated at the very center of the tribe, the house covered several hundred square meters and was surrounded by an open area. The soldiers who had accompanied Rock were nowhere to be seen; they must have returned to their own homes. Only A Dai, Xuan Yue, Yue Hen, and himself remained here.
With an excited look on his face, Rock shouted loudly at the tightly closed door, “Xiao Yun, Xiao Yun, we have guests! Open the door quickly! Hurry up and open the door!”
The door seemed to be locked from the inside. After calling out for a long time without any response, Yan Shi stood stunned, muttering, “Where could Xiao Yun have gone? The door is usually left open!” He grabbed a passing villager and asked, “Uncle Kelu, did you see Xiao Yun today? Why is our door locked? Has she gone out?”
The elderly man whom Yan Shi had stopped shook his head and said, “I haven’t seen Xiao Yun since you left early this morning; she should still be at home. Indeed! Why is your door locked today? Xiao Yun rarely goes out. Try knocking again; perhaps she’s asleep.”
Yan Shi shook his head. “No way. When I left this morning, I told her I’d be back for lunch. Xiao Yun would definitely wait for me.” Anxiety spread across his face. Walking up to the main door, he hesitated briefly before extending his large, palm-leaf-sized hand, pressing it against the door. A golden radiance erupted from his entire body, and with a soft click, the inner latch shattered instantly.
Yan Shi pushed open the great door and stepped into the room, with A Dai following closely beside him. As soon as they entered, an overwhelming stench of blood assaulted their nostrils. Yan Shi’s complexion changed drastically, and he hurriedly strode deeper into the room.
“No—” A heart-wrenching roar erupted from Yan Shi within the room, causing the entire stone house to tremble violently. A Dai was startled and immediately rushed inside with Yue Hen. What they saw left them utterly stunned. In the inner bedroom lay a large bed, upon which rested a naked young girl. Her long brown hair was tangled and disheveled; her once-beautiful face was now filled with resentment and unwillingness. Her eyes were wide open, the pupils turned grayish-white, staring fixedly at the ceiling above. Her hands were clenched tightly into fists. Blood had already stained the pristine white sheets red, and a small amount of blood continued to flow from her lower body. Clearly, she had been raped and murdered. Her fair skin had begun to turn slightly bluish, indicating she had been dead for some time.
Yan Shi held the girl in his arms, completely frozen in shock. Tears streamed continuously from the eyes of this iron-like muscular man, while his facial muscles spasmed uncontrollably.
Xuan Yue, Yue Ji, and the others followed them inside. Upon witnessing the scene, they couldn’t help but cry out in horror. Xuan Yue threw herself into A Dai’s embrace, trembling as she stammered, “W-what… what happened? This is so terrifying!”
A Dai turned to Yan Shi and asked urgently, “Brother Yan Shi, w-what happened here?”
The Rock did not answer. He stood up, cradling the girl’s naked corpse, tore the cloak from his back to wrap her within it, and stepped toward the door. The crowd automatically parted a path, watching him walk outside.
Once outside, The Rock suddenly threw back his head and let out a furious roar, “Aaaah—” His voice swelled rapidly, piercing the clouds. Accompanied by this tremendous cry, his body began to transform: his already powerful muscles abruptly bulged, ripping apart the clothes on his upper body; his brown eyes turned blood-red; and waves of perilous aura continuously seeped from within him as his presence surged violently.
Yue Hen cried out in shock, “Ah! He’s gone berserk. He’s actually a Berserker.”
The Rock’s roar echoed throughout the entire village. Villagers nearby immediately rushed over, and within moments, they had completely surrounded The Rock’s home.
“Young Master, what’s wrong? What happened?”
“Ah! Sister Yun’er, what has happened to you? Why is there blood? What… what exactly occurred?”
“Young Chief, you are…”
A chilling voice seeped through the cracks of the rocks, shaking everyone’s souls. “Tell me, who? Who killed my Yun’er? Who? Tell me, who—?”
All members of the Puyan tribe stood stunned. The wife of Rock was renowned throughout the tribe for her beauty and kindness; her sudden death was something even they could not accept. Rock kept crying out in agony, yet no matter how hard he tried, he could not express the pain within his heart.
A sturdy man rushed over, his build no less imposing than Rock’s. Gazing at the corpse in Rock’s hands, he asked in shock, “Brother Rock, how could Sister-in-law end up like this?”
The aura emanating from Rock continued to surge wildly. He repeated the same question, “Who? Who killed my Yun’er?”
Ah Dai stepped beside Rock and tried to comfort him, “Big Brother Rock, please calm down. Let’s investigate this matter thoroughly before jumping to conclusions.”
Rock flung his arm aside, releasing a tremendous force that instantly pushed Ah Dai back several meters. His eyes seemed ready to spew fire as he shouted, “Calm down? How can I calm down? The person I love most is dead. How can I possibly calm down?”
A Dai mobilized the life-generating true energy within his body, circulating it several times before finally neutralizing the battle qi emanating from Rock. Rock’s cultivation had always surpassed his own; after going berserk, his power surged dramatically, seemingly doubling its original strength. Such overwhelming force was far beyond anything A Dai could possibly withstand.
More and more people gathered, surrounding Rock’s home so tightly that not even a drop of water could slip through. A group of young men dressed as warriors pushed their way to the front, only to stand utterly stunned by the scene before them.
Suddenly, Rock let out a furious roar, tightly embracing his wife’s body with one arm while glaring wildly at a warrior before him. “It’s you, isn’t it? It must have been you who killed my Xiao Yun!” he screamed insanely. His free fist shot forward abruptly, carrying intense yellow battle qi as it crashed straight toward the warrior’s chest.
The warrior was taken completely by surprise; in that critical moment, he barely managed to raise both hands before his chest. A Dai, startled, shouted “Don’t!” and slammed his own fist from the side directly into Rock’s battle-qi-charged punch.
Amid a deafening roar, two figures were simultaneously hurled through the air. The energy contained within Rock’s fist was simply too immense; even with A-Dai exerting his full strength, he was still blasted away. Under A-Dai’s interference, Rock’s punch nevertheless slammed into the warrior’s hands. The crisp sound of breaking bones echoed clearly as the warrior’s body was likewise flung outward, spewing a mouthful of blood mid-air. Had A-Dai not intervened in time, the warrior would surely have perished beneath Rock’s frenzied fists; even so, he suffered grievous injuries.
Xuan Yue cried out in shock, “Ah! Has he gone mad?”
The middle-aged man who had arrived earlier shouted loudly, “Quick, everyone, restrain the young clan leader first! He’s gone berserk and recognizes no one!” With that, he charged forward ahead of all others.
The middle-aged man evidently commanded great authority among the Puyan tribe. Instantly, dozens of young warriors surrounding him rushed forward, throwing themselves at Rock. Roaring wildly, Rock continuously swung his arms as surging yellow battle qi erupted from him. No one could approach within three meters of him; figure after figure was sent flying. In just a short while, more than ten members of the Puyan tribe had been severely injured.
Wan Li helped A Dai up from the ground. Just moments ago, A Dai had been struck sideways by Rock’s fist; although he was sent flying by the impact, he remained unharmed. Watching the frenzied Rock, A Dai frowned, rushed over to Xuan Yue’s side, and said, “Miss, Brother Rock has suddenly become like this. Is there any way you can save him?”
Xuan Yue seemed yet to recover from the terror she felt upon seeing Rock’s wife’s corpse. Hearing A Dai’s question, she shook her head and replied, “I… I don’t have any way either!”
Yue Hen said, “The power of a Berserker is immense. They can instantly boost their strength to two hundred percent of normal while simultaneously doubling their defensive capabilities throughout their body. Judging by Rock’s current state, I’m afraid no one can restrain him now. None of us possess sufficient cultivation to handle this!”
Ah Dai gritted his teeth and said, “Let me go up and try. How could Brother Rock suddenly become like this? Has he truly gone mad?”
Yue Hen grabbed Ah Dai firmly and said, “Brother, going up would be useless. He’s now completely berserk and recognizes no one. The shock he suffered was too great; there’s not a shred of clarity left in his mind. Although I’ve seen berserkers before, they only reached fifty percent berserk mode and would recover on their own once their potential was exhausted. But in Rock’s current state, recovery seems unlikely. Only by calming him down might he return to normal. Miss Xuanyue, do you have any magic that can soothe someone?”
Xuanyue thought for a moment, then nodded. “Yes, I do. However, my magical proficiency is insufficient; I’m not sure if I can cast such an advanced Calming Spell.”
Yue Hen glanced at the still-raging Rock and said anxiously, “Let’s give it a try. After entering full berserk mode, he first exhausts his own energy and stamina, and then begins depleting his life potential. If we let him continue like this, he’ll likely perish from complete exhaustion.”
A Dai urged anxiously, “Yes! Yueyue, please save Brother Rock. I’m begging you.”
Xuan Yue glanced at A Dai in slight surprise and nodded. “Alright then, A Dai, help me.”
A Dai was taken aback. “How?”
