44 Unexpected Kisses

Inside the carriage sat a man whose wounds were not bandaged, and a young boy who was cutting strips of cloth, while Huan Mo Che went to handle the next matters.

“Prince, I can do it myself!” Leng Yufeng said somewhat shyly as he looked at the strips of cloth in the prince’s hand. He knew the prince intended to bandage his wounds, but the thought of the prince tending to him made his heart restless, afraid the prince might notice something.

“Oh?” Shang Wuxin smiled playfully, his crescent-shaped eyes shining as if reflecting sunlight, clear and bright, sparkling with light, making Leng Yufeng’s eyes burn with warmth.

Shang Wuxin handed the strips of cloth to Leng Yufeng, then stared at him without blinking, making Leng Yufeng’s neck flush red. Holding the cloth, he bit his lip and said, “Please, Your Highness, look away. I need to take off my clothes to bandage the wound!”

He had once suffered countless wounds, big and small, in the military camp. Back then, in front of He Lanjin and the others, he would just bandage them directly. But now, with the Crown Prince looking at him like this, Leng Yufeng didn’t even know why he felt so awkward, making himself seem like a big girl.

“Hmm?” Shang Wuxin not only didn’t avoid it but instead sat directly opposite Leng Yufeng, looking straight at him with a teasing tone in his voice. “We’re all men, what’s there to be shy about? Since when did General Leng become so fussy?”

Leng Yufeng was momentarily speechless at the prince’s words. After all, both of them were men—what was there to be shy about? If he made a fuss, the prince would probably see through his thoughts.

With that in mind, Leng Yufeng removed his already tattered outer robe and the black inner garment beneath it, revealing his strong, perfect upper body. Broad shoulders and a narrow waist formed a flawless inverted triangle, the golden ratio of physique. His skin was a healthy wheat color. Shang Wuxin had always known that Leng Yufeng was well-built, but seeing him now still came as a surprise. Naturally, Leng Yufeng’s body bore the expected muscles, though they were not exaggerated. However, his perfectly toned upper body was marked by numerous deep and shallow scars, which appeared to be very old.

If it weren’t for her current identity here, Shang Wuxin would really want to touch Leng Yufeng’s perfect figure. Of course, she wasn’t lusting after a man; she simply believed that beautiful people were worth appreciating, especially when it was such a charming man.

After taking off his clothes, Leng Yufeng didn’t dare to look at the prince. He knew he had many scars on his body. He used to think that it was normal for a man to have scars and never considered marriage, so he never paid much attention to them. But now, Leng Yufeng still felt a bit afraid that the prince would despise him.

Because the injury was on his back and under the Crown Prince’s gaze, Leng Yufeng struggled to bandage himself for a long time without success, becoming increasingly awkward, which made him want to get off the carriage and let someone else do the bandaging.

“Let me do it, then. Although I don’t want to admit it, General Leng is somewhat of a benefactor to me!” Shang Wuxin said as she took the cloth strip from Leng Yufeng’s hand and slowly moved closer. Leng Yufeng wanted to step back but realized he couldn’t because they were in a carriage.

Shang Wuxin crouched in front of Leng Yufeng, holding the cloth strip as she bandaged him. Because of Shang Wuxin’s petite frame and Leng Yufeng’s tall stature, it looked as if Shang Wuxin was embracing Leng Yufeng. As she wrapped the bandage, her fingers occasionally brushed against Leng Yufeng’s skin, stirring layers of blush.

Leng Yufeng dared not move. He felt that if he reached out, he could pull the prince into his chest. The prince’s slightly cool breath brushed against his heart, and the cool fingers behind him occasionally grazed his skin. Leng Yufeng felt himself growing warmer and, looking down, saw the prince’s focused gaze and those pale pink lips. Suddenly, Leng Yufeng’s mouth went dry, and more importantly, he faintly sensed a revival somewhere in his body—a feeling he had never experienced before.

He had never felt this kind of impulse toward a woman, and of course, the man hadn’t either, but at this moment, he truly, deeply wanted to kiss the prince’s lips.

Shang Wuxin was still quite skilled at bandaging. After dressing Leng Yufeng’s wound, Shang Wuxin lifted his head. What he didn’t expect was that Leng Yufeng had been looking down at him the whole time, and since Shang Wuxin had been focused on bandaging, he had also kept his head down. Now, as Shang Wuxin raised his head before Leng Yufeng could react, Leng Yufeng’s lips accidentally brushed against Shang Wuxin’s forehead. For a moment, both of them were stunned.

Leng Yufeng could feel the delicate skin beneath his lips, making him not even blink; his entire senses were focused on his own lips.

Shang Wuxin never expected that when she looked up, she would be kissed by Leng Yufeng. In that moment of shock, Shang Wuxin suddenly pushed Leng Yufeng away, her face turning very ugly. If it weren’t for his status and the recent help he had given her, she would have killed the man without hesitation.

After being pushed away by the Crown Prince, Leng Yufeng’s back hit the carriage, and the wound on his back immediately throbbed with pain, but he didn’t mind. He saw the Crown Prince sitting at a distance with a cold expression, cautiously speaking, “Sorry, I… I didn’t mean to!”

Shang Wuxin also knew that Leng Yufeng certainly didn’t do it on purpose. Now that he was a man, some nightmares from his past life still occasionally reminded him of the pain he once endured, which explained his strong reaction. Thinking about it, Shang Wuxin felt that he had dragged Leng Yufeng into this.

“No harm done!” Shang Wuxin comforted him with a word, then sat down opposite Leng Yufeng and closed his eyes.

When Leng Yufeng saw that the Crown Prince didn’t seem to dislike him, his heart kept savoring the kiss just now. He thought this feeling was something he would cherish for a lifetime.
